Details

Skiing the Mont Blanc is considered one of the great classics of ski mountaineering. Accessible only at the end of the season, when snow conditions are optimal, it is a true reward for experienced skiers.

From the Grands Mulets refuge, the route leads to the Dôme du Goûter and then to the summit of Mont Blanc, with steep and demanding sections where mountaineering skills are essential. The descent, long and impressive, features large snow slopes at high altitude, offering a magnificent backdrop of the Alpine peaks.

It’s an exceptional adventure, demanding and highly sensitive to weather conditions, where prior experience in ski touring and mountaineering is essential. Being supervised by a mountain guide ensures safety and proper management of the route in this unique environment.

Dates

From April to June, depending on snow conditions and availability at the refuge.

Registration and payment

Directly on our website or using the dated and signed registration form, accompanied by a 40% deposit and any optional insurance fees. The balance must be paid 60 days before departure.

Supervision and participants

A maximum of 2 people per guide. You will be supervised by a mountain guide. We do not form rope teams of 2: either you come alone, or you come with someone you know who has the same level as you.

Physical and technical level

Difficult level, for excellent skiers (on all snow types and terrain) and experienced mountaineers. The person must be confident in sections ranging from 35° to 45°. It is essential to be acclimatized, which is why previous ski touring/mountaineering routes must have been completed during the winter season (please provide the summits and routes you’ve completed in ski touring and crampon use to validate your level). Strong commitment and exposure corresponding to the risk in case of a fall or in the event of bad weather.

Feel free to contact us if you are unsure about the required level.

You will be traveling on a high-mountain route, and you must be aware of the dangers associated with this activity (crevasses, serac falls, rockfalls, avalanches, very low temperatures). We are available to answer any questions you may have.

Insurance

Repatriation

Cancellation

We also offer optional “cancellation” insurance at a rate of €12/day. This insurance does not take into account the sporting nature of our trips. It must be purchased at the time of registration to take effect.
As a reminder, cancellation insurance covers you from the moment you register until the start of your trip if something happens and you cannot attend. We apply cancellation fees as specified on our registration form and in our terms of sale. These fees may be reimbursed by the cancellation insurance if your reason for cancelling is covered.

If you pay by credit card, feel free to check the insurance included with it.

As a reminder, in the event of cancellation you must file your claim with the insurer within 5 days of the accident or reason for cancelling, otherwise it will not be valid (then check whether the reason for cancellation is covered).
