Above Passy, the Curalla via ferrata offers a spectacular route suspended over the valley. Between airy sections and open views of the Mont Blanc massif, this activity allows a gentle introduction to vertical climbing, guided by an expert.

Program

Meet your guide at the designated meeting point. Equipment is distributed, and the activity flow is explained.
After a short approach walk, begin the ascent on the equipped route.

The ascent alternates vertical sections, more technical traverses, and stretches offering wide views of the valley and the Mont Blanc massif peaks. The pace is adapted to the group to allow everyone to progress safely and fully enjoy the route. Return via a hiking trail at the end of the activity.

Total duration: approximately 3–4 hours (including equipment).

Details

The Curalla via ferrata, located in Passy, is one of the most panoramic routes in the Mont Blanc massif. Equipped with cables, rungs, and bridges, it allows you to ascend along the rock face while enjoying exceptional views of the Arve Valley and the surrounding peaks.

The route alternates vertical sections, aerial traverses, and more playful passages, offering a varied and balanced progression. The itinerary is ideal for discovering via ferrata or improving your skills, all within a remarkable natural setting.

Guided by an expert, participants learn to manage their progress, move smoothly, and fully enjoy the vertical environment. An accessible and immersive activity, perfect for experiencing a first climb on a rock face overlooking Mont Blanc.

Dates

Group sessions: every Tuesday and Friday morning during the summer season.
Private sessions: daily during the summer season.

Supervision and participants

A maximum of 5 people per guide. You will be supervised by a certified mountain guide or climbing instructor.

Physical and technical level

The Curalla via ferrata is accessible to beginners to intermediate climbers looking to experience movement on an equipped rock face.

No prior experience in via ferrata or climbing is required. The route is fully equipped with cables, rungs, and metal steps, allowing safe and smooth progression.

It is, however, recommended to:

  • not be prone to vertigo,
  • be comfortable on exposed sections,
  • know how to move along a vertical route while following the guide’s instructions.

The steeper sections remain accessible and are interspersed with easier stretches, allowing participants to manage effort and exposure.

Private sessions:

€315 for a group of 1 to 5 people

Insurance

Insurance is not included; you must have liability coverage to participate in these outings. We recommend being covered by assistance, search, and repatriation insurance. If you do not have it, we can direct you to specialized providers (approximately €5 per day).

  • Hiking boots or sneakers with good grip
  • Sportswear suitable for the activity and weather conditions

  • Sunscreen

Recommended accessories

  • Gloves (via ferrata-style mitts or cycling gloves) for comfort

Practical tips

  • Avoid smooth or worn-out shoes.
  • Tie back long hair and remove any items that could hinder movement.
  • Bring a lightweight windbreaker depending on the conditions.
