Experience a unique snowshoe adventure in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif! Full-day outings guided by certified mountain leaders, through snowy forests, wildlife, and spectacular panoramas. Group trips (from age 12) or private trips, equipment provided.

Program

Outings scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After meeting at the rendezvous point, your guide will provide the equipment and go over the essential safety instructions. The adventure begins gently through forests and alpine meadows, punctuated by breaks to admire the magnificent panoramas of the Mont Blanc massif.

At mid-route, enjoy a friendly picnic break in the heart of nature: a moment to relax and share while taking in the mountain peaks, savoring a meal or a hot drink. During the hike, your hiking guide will introduce you to local traditions and mountain life, past and present. The descent takes place in good spirits, followed by a brief debrief at the end to conclude this unforgettable winter experience.

  • Panoramic Snowshoe Day* – Departure at 8:45 a.m. from the TRAMWAY in Saint-Gervais

  • Glacier Hiking Day* – Departure at 7 a.m. with a high-mountain guide in Italy
  • Postcard Day – Departure at 9 a.m. from Les Contamines

The mountain leader may adjust the program based on weather conditions, mountain conditions, and participants’ skill levels.

Explore snow-covered landscapes on a snowshoe hike combining nature, camaraderie, and wonder!

Snowshoe hiking is a wonderful way to experience the snowy mountains differently, away from the slopes and the noise of the resorts. Guided by a mountain leader, this day immerses you in the calming atmosphere of winter in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif.

Step by step, you cross silent forests, snow-covered alpine meadows, and sunlit clearings, with the towering peaks of the Dômes de Miage, the Aiguille de Bionnassay, or Mont Joly as a backdrop. The guide shares insights on the wildlife, tracks in the snow, and mountain life during the winter season.

Depending on the chosen outing, the route is adapted to provide an accessible and authentic day, combining exploration of the natural environment, the joy of walking, and the contemplation of landscapes. A suspended moment to recharge in the preserved nature of the Mont Blanc massif.

Depending on snow conditions, the outings will be conducted on snowshoes, with spikes, or on foot. Be sure to bring sturdy, high-ankle, waterproof hiking boots: no sneakers, low-cut shoes, or snow boots.

Dates

In a group: Wednesdays and Fridays at Les Contamines, Thursdays in Saint-Gervais at the Mont Blanc Tramway.
Privately: daily, the location will be determined with your guide according to your preferences.

Supervision and participants

Maximum 10 participants per guide.
Group outings are guaranteed from 6 participants.
You will be guided by a certified mountain leader.

Physical and technical level

This outing is suitable for anyone in good physical condition. The route involves 400 to 650 m of elevation gain over approximately 5 hours of actual walking, at a relaxed and steady pace. No prior snowshoeing experience is required: the guide adjusts the pace and breaks to the group’s level.

Prices

Price for the group option:

  • €55 per person for Saint-Gervais and Les Contamines
  • €90 for adults and €80 for youths aged 12–14 / seniors 65+ for the Mont Blanc Tramway

The price includes

  • Guidance by a certified hiking guide
  • Provision of snowshoes or micro-crampons and poles
  • The Tramway for the Thursday group outing

Private package rates (Tramway not included):

  • 1–4 participants: €280
  • 5–7 participants: €310
  • 8–10 participants: €330

 

Insurance

Insurance is not included; you must have liability coverage to participate in these outings.

The outings take place at various locations in the Mont Blanc massif, selected based on snow conditions and the theme of the hike. The starting points are easily accessible and allow quick access to the most beautiful routes in the area.
