The day before – Welcome in Saint-Gervais
Meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Saint-Gervais guides’ office. You will meet your high-mountain guide, who will present the program and check the equipment.
Day 1 – Ascent of the Aiguilles d’Entrèves
From the Helbronner cable car (3,462 m) on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, a short glacier route leads to the Col d’Entrèves. From there begins the ridge traverse: exposed climbing on blades and ledges up to the summit gendarme (III/IV).
The descent is on the opposite side via a short rappel, followed by angled cracks and an easy ridge. A short chimney leads back to the snow slope connecting to the ascent path. Depending on conditions, the presence of snow increases both the technical difficulty and the alpine atmosphere of the route.
The guides may adjust the program according to the weather, mountain conditions, and the participants’ skill level.
The ascent of the Aiguilles d’Entrèves (3,600 m) is a magnificent ridge climb on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. From the Helbronner cable car (3,462 m), the route offers an elegant sequence on sculpted granite, combining accessible climbing sections (III/IV) with exposed ridge travel. The high-mountain atmosphere and exceptional views make this outing an unmissable experience.
Unlike some major glacier climbs, the Aiguilles d’Entrèves remain accessible for much of the year, depending on conditions. It is an ideal ascent for advancing in rock alpine climbing while enjoying a spectacular setting between France, Switzerland, and Italy.
The traverse of the Aiguilles d’Entrèves Ridge is renowned for its aesthetics and moderate technical difficulty. The route alternates ledges, granite blades, and exposed steps up to the summit gendarme. The descent is made via a short rappel, followed by a section of angled cracks and an easy ridge leading back to the ascent path. This climb is perfect for practicing rope techniques at altitude under the guidance of a high-mountain guide.
A unique panorama in the heart of the Alps
From the summit of the Aiguilles d’Entrèves, the view opens onto an exceptional landscape, spanning the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps. This natural vantage point allows for the admiration of glaciers, peaks, and the legendary faces of the Mont Blanc massif. Combining technicality and aesthetics, this ridge climb embodies the spirit of alpine climbing: moving as a rope team in a magnificent setting.
In a group: every Sunday, year-round depending on mountain conditions and lift openings.
Privately: daily, year-round depending on mountain conditions and lift openings.
